At Manitoulin Centennial Manor, we provide a comprehensive range of personalized services designed to meet the unique needs of each resident. Our dedicated staff ensures every resident receives exceptional care in a supportive, respectful, and nurturing environment.
Our team of Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, and Personal Support Workers operates under the guidance of the Director of Care. Together, they create and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s specific needs and preferences.
All residents are under the medical supervision of a physician.
Pharmaceutical care is provided by Medi-Systems, specializing in long-term care services.
The Activity Department provides a variety of programs that recognize the residents’ physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The department staff is usually available from 8am to 5 pm plus 2 evenings a weekend. And 9 to 5 on Saturday.
Examples of regularly scheduled activities include: Group exercises, Intellectual games Discussion groups, Music therapy, which includes sing alongs and entertainment from the community, easy listening music on tablets for personal use with headphones.
Games that include cards, bocce ball and floor curling and socials, which include happy hour. Bingo every Monday afternoon is a staple! We have birthday parties, special events parties and religious services. Some of these activities occur in the Activity Room/Dining Room on the main floor and may occur in the lounges on each floor. We do many Activities outside in our fabulous courtyard including campfires and we roast marshmallows and hot dogs.
Every Month we hold a Resident Council meeting as well as a Food Committee meeting where residents can come chat and voice any concerns and give input into future programs.
Our Restorative Care program is designed to maintain or improve residents’ physical and psychosocial abilities.
Our Dietary Department ensures residents enjoy balanced, nutritious meals tailored to their individual needs.
Customized Meals: Diet plans consider medical requirements, cultural and religious preferences, and personal tastes.
Ministry Standards: Menus meet the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care guidelines and Canada’s Food Guide standards.
Snacks and Supplements: Residents are provided with nourishing snacks and fluids throughout the day, supplemented as necessary by a Clinical Dietician.
A qualified Foot Care Specialist visits weekly to provide services such as nail trimming, callus reduction, and specialized care. This service is offered on a fee-for-service basis and scheduled every six weeks or as needed.
