Continuous Quality Improvement Program

Manitoulin Centennial Manor has a Continuous Quality Improvement Committee that meets monthly to review resident care and services. At present, we are focusing on improving communication between our leadership team, residents, and families to ensure everyone is better informed about the operations of our home and to gain more ideas and input to support this improvement process.

Meals are a very important part of the day for residents—not just nutritionally, but also socially—and although we have made improvements in the dining rooms over the past year, we continue to work on enhancing the overall dining experience.

For the safety and comfort of our residents, the committee also monitors falls and works on prevention strategies, reviews medication use to ensure residents are not being prescribed unnecessary drugs, explores ways to prevent and heal pressure sores more effectively, and ensures we continue to maintain our zero use of restraints.
