Manitoulin Centennial Manor

Quality Initiatives

Manitoulin Centennial Manor has a Continuous Quality Improvement Committee that meets monthly to review resident care and services. At present we are looking at the Restorative Care programs of Improving residents’ continence, the Walk to Dine Program- strengthening residents legs to maintain their independence and prevention of falls. We are looking at more inventive ways to prevent falls rather than using a restraint to reduce the number of restraints used in the home. The committee monitors the use of pain medications and how effective our pain control is for our residents. We also monitor residents with wounds, where they were acquired and how effective our protocols are in dealing with wound care. We provide our Management Company, Extendicare, with our statistics and these are compared to the Provincial Averages.
